Some Basic Workouts That You Can Do Right In Your Own Living Room | Love and Life - We all know how hard it is to fit going to the gym into our busy schedules, most of us just can’t find the time. We can, however, find the time to watch our favorite television shows every week and we don’t let anything stop us from that indulgence. Why not work out while you are watching your favorite show? Maybe you can do it during the commercial breaks or when your movie hits that slow point in the middle like they all do.

Here are some basic workouts that you can do right in your own living room in front of your television :

1. Couch Dips. These will work your triceps muscle. To do them, you just sit on the edge of your couch facing your television. Place your hands next to you, fingertips forward. Roll your shoulders back and open your chest. Move your body off of the couch while still keeping it close to the couch. Now bend your elbows and lower your butt to the floor. Lift yourself back up to the starting position. Do as many of these as you can during the commercial break.

2. Sit Up/Sit Down Squats. These will work your glutes, hamstrings and quadriceps. To do these properly, holding something heavy out in front of you such as a large book or brick if you have one, sit at the edge of the couch. Keep your arms out in front of you shoulder width apart and your feet hip-width apart. Sit up straight and tall, squeeze your abs and stand up pushing against your heels. Keep your hands out in front of you. Now sit back down slowly. Keep your eyes forward the entire time you are doing this exercise. Do as many of these as you can during the commercial break.

3. Wall Push-Ups. These will strengthen your arms and core. To start, stand facing the wall about an arm’s length away from it. Reach out and put your hands against the wall shoulder width apart. You should be leaning into the wall a bit. Now, do a simple push-up against the wall. Breathe in when going towards the wall and out when pushing away from it. Do as many of these as you can during the commercial break.

There you have it, three simple yet effective exercises that you can do while watching your favorite tv shows.
